No one deserves to endure a life of pain without the answers and treatments available to them. At Ramos Center, we believe in providing our patients all the available options in pain management. We offer free research studies that require no insurance coverage or approval from your insurance company. You can participate in groundbreaking medical research that will not only improve your life, but will help develop medicine to improve the lives of generations to follow.

Currently at Ramos Center, we have three new studies and we are actively looking for new participants. So if you suffer from Gout, DPN (Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy), or Fibromyalgia please call us today to find more information about our process.

Are you or a loved one suffering from pain? Have the conventional methods of treatment let you down or are the costs associated with them prohibitively expensive?

Current Studies

Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis. It is characterized by sudden and severe attacks of pain, redness, and swelling. In about half the reported cases, gout affects the great toe joint (bottom joint of the big toe) but can affect other joints including ankles, knees, hands and wrists.

Symptoms of gout include:

  • Intense joint pain
  • Lingering soreness
  • Inflammation and redness
  • Limited range of motion

Ramos Center is looking for men 50 years or older and women 55 years or older who suffer from gout to take part in our study.

DPN (Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy)

DPN is caused by chronically high blood sugar. Having high blood sugar over extended periods of time will lead to damaged nerves in your extremities and other parts of your body. This can disrupt the brain’s commands to the body.

This means that the patient’s affected area will loose feeling of cold and hot temperature changes, and painful cuts or sores can develop on the skin. This can be extremely dangerous as the patient may not feel a burn, sore, or wound, which can cause infections if left untreated. DPN progresses slowly, so for some patients it can be hard to gauge if their symptoms are getting worse.

Early symptoms include:

  • Numbness
  • Pins and needles
  • Burning/Cold
  • Pinching
  • Sharp pain

Advanced symptoms include:

  • Touch sensitivity
  • Muscle weakness
  • Problems Balancing

Right now, Ramos Center is looking for men and women who are living with type 2 diabetes and are between the ages of 25-80 years of age.

We still have a lot to learn about fibromyalgia. Medical science believes that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes them. Patients suffering from fibromyalgia live with severe musculoskeletal pain along with other negative symptoms. Some patients report that their symptoms were triggered suddenly from a trauma, infection, or psychological loss, while other patients experience a slower, more gradual onset.

Symptoms include:

  • Widespread pain
  • Fatigue
  • Difficulties focusing

We are looking for adults 18 or older who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and live with moderate to severe pain.

At Ramos Center, you can gain access to investigational treatments before they are widely available to the public, and you will receive expert medical care while participating in important research. We are excited to extend these free trials to our community members and we can’t wait to see how we can help you. Give us a call and let us help you start living the life you deserve!
