Targeted Radiofrequency Ablation (t-RFA)

This revolutionary, palliative procedure is providing cancer patients fast pain relief from painful metastatic spinal tumors. The procedure does NOT interfere with other cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation. t-RFA can be done at any time before, during or after the standard protocols if spine pain is intense. This is also an option for patients who have already reached their maximum radiation dosage or have radiation-resistant tumors.

Conventional methods can take weeks and require multiple treatments to achieve meaningful pain reduction. By comparison, t-RFA has been clinically shown to provide patients with pain relief that is both rapid and durable.

With radiation therapy approximately 1/3rd of patients have complete relief, 1/3rd partial relief and 1/3rd no relief. With t-RFA we achieve 80% success and over 90% when combined with traditional therapies.
